Birkha M. Rai, age 99, of Scranton, passed away Tuesday at The Gardens at Scranton.
Born on New Year’s Day, 1919, he was born in the Kingdom of Bhutan in South Asia where he served as a farmer on his family farm before migrating to the United States, living with his extended family in Scranton.
The patriarch of his family, he will be greatly honored, dearly missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral ceremonial rites by Chandra Rai Ratna will begin on Thursday at 11:00AM in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Private interment, St. Mary’s Czestochowa Cemetery, Moosic.
