Jack (E.P.) Harris, age 63, of Moosic and formerly of Old Forge, passed away Sunday morning at home after an illness.

Born in Nuremberg, Germany, on January 13, 1955, he was the son of the late John and Helena Klemenz Harris. A graduate of Lackawanna College, he proudly served in the United Air Force during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Sergeant before his Honorable Discharge. A longtime trucking owner and operator holding his Class A CDL, he would work as CDL Instructor for Knights of the Road, before his retirement in 2003.

E.P. certainly lived his life to the fullest while both achieving and experiencing so much throughout his journey. He enjoyed skydiving, scuba diving and flying while also having his private pilot’s license. Taken from his loved ones too soon, he will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his former wife and soulmate, Alicia (De) Leon Harris of Florida; his five siblings, selfless caregiver Vernetta Harris of Moosic, Christine Yevich of Chapman Lake, Sharon Anema of Jermyn, John Harris of Virginia and Richard Harris of Mayfield; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

His family wishes to thank both the entire staff of DaVita Dialysis and also Dr. James Sheerer for their amazing compassion and care throughout E.P.’s illness. They would also like to acknowledge Dave Bower and Dave Shultz who treated Jack like a brother.

Private arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
