Obituaries

Sally G. Gleason, age 79, of Moosic, passed away Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, William V. Gleason, Jr., on May 18, 2014.
Born in Spring Brook Twp., on July 24, 1938, and daughter of the late Henry and Helen Rose Garrett, Sally was a graduate of the former Moosic High School. After working for many years for the Scranton National Bank, she retired as a clerk for Zambers Sporting Goods in Duryea. She was also a longtime member of the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Old Forge. She an avid bird watcher, whose favorite bird of all was the Red Cardinal. She will be missed.
She is survived by her sons, Garrett Gleason and wife Jacqueline of Old Forge and William M. Gleason and wife, Susan of Taylor; and three grandsons, Garrett and Brandon Gleason, both of Old Forge and William Gleason and wife Monika of Taylor.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Rau.
Funeral services by Rev. Dr. Michael Shambora, Stewart Memorial U.M. Church Pastor, will be celebrated on Thursday at noon in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Private interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Emhurst Twp.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 11:00AM until services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
