Obituaries

Nicholas Acciai, age 42, of North Scranton, died Sunday at Regional Hospital of Scranton, after an illness. Born in Scranton on August 10, 1975 to the late biological parents, Nicholas Cabbotts and Alice Ann Smith and lovingly raised by his late adoptive parents, Margaret and John Acciai, Nicholas was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School. He enjoyed fishing and cooking and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. In a final act of selflessness, Nicholas was a full donor to the Gift of Life Program, leaving behind a lasting legacy through those benefiting from his donation. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Moore Acciai; his children, Zack, William, Phillip, Gabby and Autumn Acciai; two grandchildren; siblings, Michael Acciai and wife Peg, John Acciai and wife KyongSu, Marsilia Castellano and husband Michael, Catherine and Lewis Kline, Margaret Kelly and wife Tracey, Joann Conner and husband Patrick, Michael C. Acciai, Danny Cabbotts and Jane Ann; and many nieces and nephews.
A blessing service to be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Sica is scheduled for Thursday at 7:00PM in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 5-7:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nicholas’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
