Raymond Mozeleski, age 59, of Pittston, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at home, after an illness.
Born in Old Forge on January 23, 1959, and son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Viola Smicherko Mozeleski, Ray was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1976, where he proudly graduated with honors. He then studied Computer Sciences at the University of Scranton and Wilkes University. He worked as the head systems analyst for Blue Cross, Albany, N.Y., before moving and working again for Blue Cross in Columbia, S.C. Prior to illness, he last worked at MetLife in Moosic.
Whether it be singing, playing the guitar or listening to music, Ray was a lifelong passionate musician. With his brother Tony along his side on the accordion, Ray could be found entertaining at many locals pubs in his younger years. His proudest accomplishment was his children. He would boast of his daughter’s musical accolades and her performance on NBC’s “The Voice” and his son’s shared love for the guitar and amazing achievements as a chef.
Friendly, kind-hearted and loving, Ray was blessed with wit, humor and a gift for conversation. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by twin children, Danielle Mozeleski Fleming and husband Ian of Los Angeles, CA., and Alex Mozeleski of Albany, N.Y.; siblings, Anthony (Tony) Mozeleski, Jr. and wife Judi of Carbondale, Paulette Mozeleski Snedeker and husband Dennis of Duryea, David Mozeleski and wife Dena of Glastonbury, CT. and Daniel Mozeleski and wife Kathie of Old Forge; his former wife, Emilee Plucenik Foster of Albany, N.Y.; and many adoring cousins, nieces and nephews.
His family would like to express their gratitude to Erin and Paul of Anthracite Apartments, as well as dear friends Coo, Mike and Rich and all of Ray’s neighbors.
Memorial services have been scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 11:00AM – 1:00PM at Lucca’s Banquet Room, 802 South Main Street, Taylor, PA 18517. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
