Marjorie Jones, age 75, of Taylor, passed away Saturday morning at Mountain View Care Center in Scranton, after a three year residence.
Born on March 18, 1942, and daughter of the late Jennie Corman, Marjorie began a career in nursing after graduating from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania before handling private duty nursing, prior to her retirement. She was formerly a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Scranton.
Marjorie enjoyed the simple joys of life. An avid reader who loved to both scrapbook and complete crossword puzzles, she would also never pass up a good game of bingo. She was always on the go with family and friends, while loving every minute of it. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her and nothing gave her more joy than watching them grow. Passing away peacefully with her adoring family by her side, she will forever be missed.
She is survived by her four children, Thomas Jones and wife Diane of Gouldsboro, Dorothy Kamin and husband David of Scranton, Kevin Jones and wife Vickie of Moosic and Melissa Paisley and husband Cliff of Archbald; three siblings, Martin, Jim, Edith and husband Chuck; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her former husband of 28 years, Edwin (Tom) Jones, on November 5, 1998.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
