Diane Stancavage, age 68, of Old Forge, passed away Tuesday at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Stanley J. Stancavage, Sr., her daughter, Kimberly Stancavage Smith, and a brother, Wallace Cook, Jr.
Born in Scranton on June 11, 1949, and daughter of the late Wallace, Sr., and Lorraine Wagner Cook, Diane was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Duryea.
Diane was kind, caring and selfless. She was an adoring mother and loving grandmother who will forever be missed by her family and friends. She worked as a seamstress, a call center associate for JC Penny, and a medical records clerk at EDM, formerly Diversified,
She is survived by her son, Stanley J. Stancavage, Jr., of Old Forge; her grandson, Nathan J. Stancavage of Old Forge; her three brothers, Ronald Cook of Taylor, Thomas Cook and wife Barbara of Scranton, and Richard Cook of Scranton; and nieces and nephews.
Thanks to Dr. Michael Jalowiec and Moses Taylor Hospital for their care. Memorial services are set for Saturday at 2:00PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects from 12:00PM until services.
