Faye Reviello Pregmon Chmiel, her family’s beloved “Faye Babes”, received the greatest gift, Heaven, when she died on her birthday Wednesday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after an illness.
Born in Old Forge on January 17, 1928, and daughter of the late Samuel (Duck) and Mary Pecuch Reviello, Faye was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1945. She held various employment from Topps Chewing Gum Co. to garment factories, but retired after many years of providing cleaning services to local businesses and people.
A faithful member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Dupont, Faye was an active volunteer within both the parish and the community, earning an award of acknowledgement for her selfless service to others. From church picnics to the Dupont Food giveaway, Faye was always happy to lend a helping hand. She was also a member of the Moosic Senior Citizens. She was amazingly independent and tremendously loving. Passing away peacefully, she leaves behind her family and dear friends who’ll forever miss her.
She is survived by her children, John Pregmon and wife Kathy of Old Forge, Kathleen Niznik and husband Joseph of Hunlock Creek, and David Chmiel and wife Betty Ann of Dupont; a sister, Dolores Keeler of Duryea; five loving grandchildren; five loving great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her first husband, John Pregmon, and her second husband, John (Janiu) Chmiel; and siblings, Donald, Jackie (T.R.), Sammy Reviello and Ann Sheluga, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Monday at 9:00AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, to be celebrated by Rev. Thomas J.
