Robert J. Cherundolo, age 71, of Old Forge, passed away Wednesday at home.
Born on November 13, 1946, and raised in Old Forge, he was the son of the late James and Eleanor Greco Cherundolo. A lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, now Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge, he was also a graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy. A truly talented musician, he enjoyed singing and playing the piano and guitar. He was a loving son, family member and friend who, despite eduring much in his life, was a genuinely good and generous person with a kind and gentle heart. He will be missed.
He is survived by his adoring aunt, Loretta Garrity of Moosic; his long time companion Katie, and loving cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday at 10:00AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Pastor. Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery in West Scranton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the church on Monday from 9:30AM until Mass. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
