Jenny Loeffler, age 56, of Old Forge, passed away Tuesday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, after an illness. She is survived by her loving husband, Gerard (Jerry) Loeffler, Sr. The couple celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on June 29th.
Born on October 12, 1961 and raised in the Greenwood section of Moosic, Jenny was the daughter of the late Winfield and Jennie Gray Samsak. Educated at Riverside High School, she was a worker in the local garment industry, including Goldstar Manufacturing, but raising her children was her favorite job of all.
An avid gardener, Jenny loved her flowers and plants. A selfless woman, she always put the needs of others before herself. Her life was her family, and taking care of her husband, children and granddaughter meant the world to her. Now at peace, she will be forever missed.
She is survived by her adoring children, Jerry Loeffler, Jr. and his fiance Valeria Navarro of Old Forge, and Jenna Loeffler, a student at Temple University, and her boyfriend, Matthew Legg; her siblings, John (Jack) and Winfield (Toby) Samsak, both of Scranton; Frances Cutri of Moosic and Robert Samsak of Moosic; a beloved granddaughter, Genevieve Loeffler; and nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the entire staff of Traditional Home Health Care for the amazing care given to both Jenny and her family.
Funeral services by Rev. Dr. Michael Shambora are scheduled for Friday, November 3rd, at 10:00AM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 5-8:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jenny’s name to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73123.
