Theresa Gryczko, age 78, a lifelong resident of Old Forge, passed away Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Michael P. Gryczko, Jr., on October 18, 2002.
Born on May 18, 1939, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Martin Talarico, she was educated at Old Forge High School. A talented seamstress, she worked at Rohr Lingerie in Old Forge, prior to her retirement. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a lifelong member of the St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Old Forge. Prior to her illness, she enjoyed sewing and yard work. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she be forever missed by her family.
She is survived by two sons, Michael P. Gryczko, III, of Old Forge, and Mark Gryczko of Sacramento, California; five grandchildren, Lorelei Gryczko and Tom Fonash, Sean Gryczko and Emily Flowers, Anthony, Joey and Kyrie Gryczko; three great grandchildren, Cecelia, Juniper and Ethan; and many nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Michele Gryczko; siblings, Joseph (Jimbo) Talarico and Marie Housten; and step-brothers, William and Donald Gilchrist and William and Robert Legg, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 28th, at 8:15AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 9:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 620 South Main Street in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Pastor. Interment will follow at Old Forge Cemetery.
