Obituaries

Edward J. Oliver, age 62, of Taylor, and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Friday morning at home, after a lengthy and hard-fought illness. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Michelle Lawhorn Oliver.
Born in Philadelphia on February 28, 1955, Edward was the son of the late Malachi and Doris McCoy Oliver. A talented electrician by trade, he was also a member of Holy Cross Baptist Church of Philadelphia. He was a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles who was also a car enthusiast. He also loved music and enjoyed cooking for his family. Edward was a strong man with an amazing sense of humor. He adored his family who were the focal point of his life. Now at peace, he will always be dearly missed by his loved ones.
He is also survived by his three children, Tyriq (T.J.) Oliver of Taylor, Edward Oliver of Coatesville and Nakeesha Oliver of Philadelphia; brothers, Eric, Kenneth and Robert Oliver; sisters, Cynthia, Deedee and Olivia Oliver and Gloria Myers; three grandchildren with a grandson on his way; and many nieces and nephews.
His brother, Malachi Oliver, also preceded him in death.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at a public viewing on Wednesday, October 11th, between 1-3:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
