Esther M. Domiano, age 99, a resident of Dunmore Health Care Center and formerly of Old Forge, died Wednesday. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Fred E. Domiano, on January 8, 2002.
Born in Duryea on Valentine’s Day, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Agnes and Louis Pesotine. Educated at the former Duryea High School, she worked in the local garment industry, retiring from Lennie Lee’s in Old Forge.
Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will forever be missed by her loved ones.
She is survived by her son, Fred Domiano and wife Nancy of Old Forge; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Martin Domiano; her granddaughter, Brandi Domiano; and her siblings, Marie, Lorraine, Fredrick (Fritz), Henry, Agnes Louise, Gertrude, Loretta, Ludwig (Lutz), Helen, Joseph, Elizabeth (Betty) and Jean.
Her family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staffs of both Dunmore Health Care Center and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their amazing care.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday at noon at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Prince of Peace Parish, in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Pastor. Subsequent burial at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea will be private.
Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Esther’s name to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive # 7, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., 18702.
