Thomas “Bunda” Aulisio, age 62, of Falls and Old Forge, passed away Tuesday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton, after an illness.
Born on June 25, 1955 and raised in Old Forge, Tom was the son of the late Joseph “Lease” P. and Mary Heffernan Aulisio. After Old Forge High School he attended Johnson Technical School. He had worked for Merchants Produce in Moosic for 25 years and over the past several years, he also worked for his dear friend, Edward Rutkowski, at Tri Cel Plastic Company in Old Forge.
At a young age, he was instilled by his parents with a strong and dedicated work ethic. Until the last day of his life, Tom maintained his independence despite his lengthy, but brave, battle with illness. He will be forever missed.
He is survived by his brothers, George Aulisio and wife Julie of Old Forge, Joe Aulisio, by Tom’s side at his passing, and wife Susan of Taylor, Jim Aulisio and wife Janice of Nelson, Virginia; his loving sister, Mary Theresa Reid and husband Gene of Scranton; and many nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank Ed Rutkowski, Tom’s countless friends from Old Forge and Falls, and the many nurses and doctors who assisted throughout Tom’s medical challenges. They’ll also be forever grateful for the compassionate care of Dr. Darlene Dunay.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday at 10:00AM at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 620 South Main Street in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. John Polednak. Burial will follow at Old Forge Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the church on Saturday from 9:00AM until services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to the donor’s favorite charity. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
