Susanne Jones Pavlovic, 61, a lifelong Scranton resident, died Sunday evening at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with illness including lung disease.
Daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy Lavelle Jones, Susanne was a graduate of West Scranton High School. She previously worked as a manager for the former Specialty Records, Olyphant. Susanne also worked for a number of years at Pantuso Motors, Scranton. She attended Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton.
Susanne’s big heart had a soft spot for all wildlife. Over the years, she helped rescue, shelter and find homes for many animals. She dearly loved her children and granddaughters, who were her world. After living her life to the fullest, Susanne is now at peace. She will be forever missed by her countless family and friends.
Surviving are two loving children, Nicholas Pavlovic and wife, Angela, Lynchburg, Va.; and Samantha Pavlovic and partner, Luis Ortiz, Old Forge; two beloved granddaughters, Catalina and Madeline; nieces and nephews who considered her more than an aunt, but a second mother; and many cousins.
Susanne also had a special relationship with her aunt and uncle, Madeline Lavelle and Eugene Bird; and her cousin, Kathleen Bird.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edwin (Tom) Jones.
Her family sincerely appreciates the amazing care and compassion of the ICU staff at Moses Taylor Hospital and the Allied Services Hospice Unit.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Patrick J. McLaughlin, pastor. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Family and friends may pay their respects Friday from 10 until Mass at the church. Arrangements are under the care of the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
