Allen George Sweet, Sr., age 65, of Croydon, PA, passed away Sunday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, after an illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna Sweet.
Born in Mount Holly, New Jersey, on April 25, 1952, He is survived by his mother Doris DiMarco Woods and was the son of the late George Sweet.
Allen was a general contractor. A musician who enjoyed playing the guitar, he also loved fishing. Now at peace, he was loved by all who knew him and will be forever missed.
He is survived by his children, Cari Sweet-Kostoplis and husband Frank of Lincoln Park, N.J., Jessica Elfvin and wife Laura of Levittown; Brandy Sweet-Krofchok and husband James of Hanover Twp., Allen Sweet Jr and wife Lynn of Vernon, N.J., Allen Sweet, Jr. of Plymouth. Step Children: Jewett Bowman and fiancé Tara of Bensalem, Billy Rutherford and wife Erin of Croydon and Gene Rutherford of Philadelphia; sisters, Hanna Holman of Florida, Sherylann Sweet of NJ, Sharon Thurston of Fl; 23 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A sister, Alice Sweet, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services with interment at Rosedale Memorial Park in Bensalem will be on Friday, September 1st at 11:30 A.M. A friends and family gathering will be held afterwards and announced at graveside. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Pancreatic Cancer Research. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
