Born on Aug. 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Jennie Coolbaugh Webb. Residing in the “Spike Island” section of Moosic for most of her life, she moved to Old Forge several years ago. A proud graduate of the former Moosic High School, she was employed by the Waitt and Bond Cigar Company, and was also a faithful member of the Moosic Alliance Community Church.
Aunt Gladys was loved by her family and friends. She is truly smiling in heaven now that she’s with Jesus and singing “Jesus Loves Me.”
She is survived by her nieces, Margaret “Peggy” DeMartino, Lynn Weller, Carol Huddy; and nephews, Wayne, Bill, Bob and Paul John “P.J.” Webb.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Berniece Gensel; brothers, David Nile, Sr., Milo, Claude and Paul Webb; a nephew, David Nile Webb, Jr.; and nieces, Sharon Barney, Jennie Killian and Ruth Ann Webb.
Her family extends a special thank you to Dr. Armando Sallavanti, Darlene Poehlman, Geri Rubel, Mary Beth Searfoss, Ann Webb, Hope, Dawn and Joyce McCracken, Tom, Betty and all who treated Aunt Gladys with such kindness. She truly appreciated all of the kindness and love given to her, as well as Helen Williams at Allied for being there to comfort and watch over Aunt Glad when we couldn’t be there.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Moosic Alliance Community Church, Rocky Glen section of Moosic, to be conducted by Rev. Donald Weidman. Interment will follow at Spring Brook Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service.
