Ann M. Seig, age 78, of the Greenwood section of Moosic, passed away at home peacefully Sunday evening following a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, George M. Seig on August 14, 2015.
Born in Scranton on July 6, 1939, and daughter of the late Edward and Stephanie Techmanski, Ann was a 1957 graduate of the former Moosic High School. After attending Penn State University, she then became a licensed beautician after earning her degree from Empire Beauty School. She owned and operated AnnTech Beauty Salon in the Keyser Oak Plaza, Scranton, through the 1960’s and 1970’s, while serving as a member of the Northeast Hairdresser’s Association.
After raising her children, she enjoyed a successful career as a realtor. A member of the National Association of Realtors, she worked with ERA One Source Realty until her retirement. She was also a lifelong devoted member to the St. Stanislaus Polish National Cathedral Parish in South Scranton. Ann enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. Her favorite pastime, however, was being with her family.
She is survived by her children, Gretchen Middleton and husband Joseph of Newton and Attorney George E. Seig of Moosic; her beloved grandson, Eric Middleton; sisters-in-law, Judy Rowan and Claire Lyckowski, both of Moosic; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Techmanski.
Ann’s family would like to acknowledge and thank her caregivers, Justine Mattie and Karla Carrubba, for their loving care and dedication; the entire Hospice of the Sacred Heart staff for their excellent care; Ann’s cousin, Henrietta Ostroski, for making her beautiful every Friday, and to Susan Glogowski for always being there in every way possible.
Funeral services and burial at St. Stanislaus P.N.C. Parish Cemetery will be private in accordance with Ann’s wishes.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
