Michael Bettis, age 43, of North Scranton, passed away Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton after a longtime illness. He is survived by his best friend and loving fiance, Lisa Wisneski.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 24, 1973, he was the son of Arlene Verlin Bettis. Prior to illness, he worked as a youth counselor. He loved politics, always tuned-into CNN, and he enjoyed listening to music. He will be dearly missed.
He is also survived by his son, Michael; siblings, Sonja, Rene, Derrick and Ronald Bettis; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private blessing service will be held at the Salvation Apostolic Temple, West Scranton. Arrangements are under the care of the Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton. Please visit the funeral home’s website to leave an online condolence.
