Janet (Jan) L. Green, age 68, a resident of Scranton, passed away Wednesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre, after a sudden illness.
Born on February 4, 1949, and raised in West Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Jean Levandowski Skoritoski. A graduate of West Scranton High school, she then earned her Associates degree from Keystone Junior College.
For many years, she worked as a sales associate for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, previously Smith Barney. A hard working and loyal employee, her worth ethic stood unmatched and she was tremendously respected by her co-workers. She adored dogs and actively supported various rescue programs, including the ‘Adopt a Boxer Rescue Program.’ She loved her family, especially her sons and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Jared Green of Wernersville and Jason Green and wife Melissa of Annville; three grandchildren, Madeline and twins Benjamin and Lily Green.
A blessing service by Rev. Carmine Mendicino, Deacon of St. Lucy’s Parish, is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:00pm in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday between 5-7:00PM at the funeral home.
