Obituaries

Bernice Pugliano, age 94, a resident of The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania and formerly of Old Forge, passed away Monday, June 19th. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Furey Pugliano, on June 8, 2014.
Born in Moosic on April 12, 1923 and daughter of the late John and Maude Larnerd, Bernice was a graduate of the former Moosic High school. Prior to her retirement, she worked as the manager of AVIS Car Rental at the Wilkes Barre/Scranton International Airport. She was also a lifelong member of the Moosic United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed traveling and reading, but above all she was an amazing baker. For years, her New York Cheesecake was sold in local restaurants. She will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Webb and wife Donna of Lavonia, Georgia, Paul (P.J.) Webb of Fort Stockton, Texas, Lynn Weller and husband Carl of Tampa, Florida, and Margaret (Peggy) DeMartino and husband Frank of Dalton; step-children, Donna DiMattia of Old Forge, Lorraine Daniels and husband Mark of Avoca and Louis Pugliano and wife Jeannine of Hartford, New York; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were siblings, Jean and Fredrick (Ted) Larnerd and Doris Robson and a half sister, Margaret Ringrose.
