Rose Marie Miller, age 93, an 11-year resident of West Scranton and formerly of Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away Tuesday at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death in 1996 by her beloved husband of 52 years, Clarence Miller.
Born and raised in Jersey City, N.J., Rose was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Cappadona D’Amico. A member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in West Scranton, she was also a member of the West Side Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time outside in the sun, walking and being with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She will be forever missed.
She is survived by her adoring daughter, Jane Sandman, with whom Rose had recently resided; her grandchildren, Robert Sandman and wife Jenna of Honesdale and Aurora Sandman of Scranton; great grandchildren, Lucile and Christian Sandman, both of Scranton; a niece, Fran Domino and a nephew, Michael Giannace, both of Florida.
Also preceding her in death were sisters, Catherine A. Manfre, Mildred G. Rosenblatt and Ann Giannace.
Her family wishes to extend their appreciation to the entire staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Erin McGrath, as well as the staff and residents of Linwood Center, for the amazing care taken of Rose the past two months. Memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s name to C.C.H., 366 North Main St., Taylor, PA., 18517
Private services will be by Rev. Dennis Gray, C.C.H. Chaplain. Interment, Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge, N.J. Arrangements are under the care of the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
