Patricia Jane Thomas, 74, of Old Forge, died Saturday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital after being stricken ill at home.
Born Jan. 17, 1943, in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” and Kathryn Duffy Thomas. Patricia was a graduate of Old Forge High School class of 1960. She was employed by Lease Dry Cleaners, Drs. Marmo and Alexandrian, and as a medical records secretary by the former Taylor Hospital, finally retiring in 2005 after 25 years with Moses Taylor Hospital. She was a member of Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, Old Forge, where she taught Sunday school.
Patricia was a loving sister and aunt who enjoyed playing cards, especially with her friends at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her loving brother, David Thomas, Old Forge; niece and godchild, Aimee Thomas, and fiancée, Emanuel Johnson, Old Forge; nephews, David Thomas Jr., and wife, Angelique, Exton; Jeffrey Thomas, Old Forge; and Christopher Thomas and wife, Gabriela, Old Forge; great-nieces and great-nephews, J.J. Thomas, Jennie Thomas, J.D. Thomas and Chiara Johnson.
The family would like to extend a thank you from the bottom of their hearts to Dr. Armando Sallavanti and Betsy Freeman for the excellent care given to Patricia over the years, and to her friends and the staff at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with the Rev. Michael Shambora, pastor of Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Harding.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
