Anna W. Bonifacio, 87, of Scranton, died Saturday morning in the inpatient unit of Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo P. Bonifacio, Jr., on August 28, 1985.
Born January 28, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Elsie (Wirth) Michaelis. She was a strong and independent woman who loved to travel, volunteer with Telespond Senior Services and enjoy her beading group when she was living in Oklahoma.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving children, Sharon Bettinger of Scranton, Marguerite Redfearn and husband Gary of Bonham, Texas, Roberta McAlister of Dunmore, Lorenzo Bonifacio, III, and wife Angela of Bayshore, New York, Lorena Benson and husband Michael of Throop; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Delucia and a brother, Frederick Michaelis, Jr.
