Born on December 30, 1940, son of the late John and Laura Lucarelli Lane, Tuggy was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1959, before getting married. After owning and operating the Texaco Gas Station in Old Forge, he became a talented plasterman, working in the masonry field throughout the valley, until his retirement.
An outdoorsman at heart who enjoyed hunting and fishing, his favorite hobby was gardening (tomato plants). He was also a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. He was a selfless man who left his impression on the lives of many family members and friends, especially his granddaughters who he adored. He’ll be forever missed.
He is survived by three children, Patricia Muncie and husband Thomas of Scranton, Joseph Lane and wife Santa of Pittston, and Mary Ellen Lane of Taylor; two grandddaughters, Kayleigh Lane and Casey Greenfield; and two nieces, Wendy Buchholz and Suzane Frenchman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark “Coo” Lane, on January 7th; and his brother, John “Dilly” Lane.
His family would like to thank the entire staff of Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their collective care given to Tuggy throughout his stay.
A private blessing service by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Pastor of Prince of Peace Parish, is scheduled for Thursday with burial to follow at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday between 5-8:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tuggy’s name to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, # 7, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., 18702.
