Mark “Coo” Lane, age 54, of Taylor, and formerly of Old Forge, passed away Saturday morning under the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart’s Inpatient Unit, Dunmore, after battling cancer.
Born on July 5, 1962, son of Frank “Tuggy” Lane of Taylor and the late Kathleen Williams Lane, Mark was educated at Old Forge High School. A former mechanic for Schuback’s Auto Parts in Old Forge, he had worked for S&S Pools and Spas, Inc., in Duryea, prior to becoming ill.
An outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, he was a major NASCAR fan and also a member of the Old Forge VFW, Post 4954. Taken from all of his family and friends too soon, Coo will be missed forever.
He is also survived by his loving siblings, Patricia Muncie and husband Thomas of Scranton, Joseph Lane and wife Santa of Pittston, and Mary Ellen Greenfield of Taylor; and two beloved nieces, Kayleigh Lane and Casey Greenfield.
His family would like to thank the amazings staffs of both Henry Cancer Center at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the tremendous care and kindness shown to them throughout Mark’s illness.
Blessing services by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Pastor of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge, will be private with interment at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea.
Public viewing for relatives and friends will be Wednesday between 4-7:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive # 7, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., 18702.
