Jean E. Fretti, age 64 of Wilkes Barre, passed away Thursday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, after an illness.
Born in Duryea on October 29, 1952, and daughter of the late Russell, Sr., and Margaret Miller Wickizer, Jean was a graduate of the former Duryea High School before earning her degree from Luzerne County Community College.
Selfless in nature, she was an active volunteer for the Greater Wilkes Barre Association for the Blind. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Jason Fretti and wife Melissa of Lancaster; five siblings, Janet Kreig of Moosic, Marilyn Pepsin and Peggy Cremard, both of Old Forge; Donald Wickizer of Moosic and Robert Wickizer of Duryea; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, Barry, Richard and Russell Wickizer, Jr.
Her family would like to thank Jean’s dear neighbors, Kate and MaryAnn, for years of their amazing support, kindness and friendship.
Blessing Services have been scheduled for Saturday at 10:00AM at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, 4115 Memorial Hwy, Dallas, by Rev. Peter Kurtz, Pastor of the Good Shepard Church in Wilkes Barre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s name to the Greater Wilkes Barre Association for the Blind, 1825 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, PA., 18643. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street in Old Forge.
