Constance (Connie) R. Zaykowski, age 71, formerly of Old Forge, passed away Tuesday morning at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton.
Born in Scranton on September 22, 1945, and daughter of the late August and Elizabeth McCulligan Reidenbach, Connie was a member of the first graduating class of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1963. She was previously employed by Allied Services as a Certified Nurse Assistant and of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Church of Old Forge.
Connie loved all types of music, was an avid non-fiction reader, and her favorite pastime was completing crossword puzzles. Even upon her cancer diagnosis, she still maintained her beautiful appearance. Never to be forgotten, she will forever be missed by family and friends.
She is survived by three children, Lorie Lowe and husband David of Jonestown, Ronald Zaykowski, Jr., and wife Ami and Daniel Zaykowski, all of Old Forge; a brother, August (Buddy) Reidenbach of Hawley; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Siblings, Rita and John (Jack) Reindenbach also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to thank the entire staffs of Linwood Center, Hospice of the Sacred Heart and Old Forge Manor for treating Connie like family, with care and compassion.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Friday at 9:15AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Prince of Peace Parish, to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Pastor. Burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery in West Scranton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 5-7:00PM at the funeral home.
