George Samuel Bound, Jr., age 79, of Taylor, passed away Monday morning at Riverside Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Taylor, after an illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Kaufmann Bound. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniverary on August 12th.
Born on December 11, 1937, George was the son of the late George Samuel, Sr. and Helen Nidak Bound. He worked as a computer programmer, and eventually as a programming manager, for AT&T before retiring from UNUM (previously Commercial Life). Raised within a proud family of Veterans, he honorably served as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge in 1956. He was also honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1962.
George enjoyed playing tennis and computer games and his favorite hobby was collecting WWII model airplanes. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he will be forever missed by his family and friends.
He is also survived by two sons, Craig Bound and wife Michele of Old Forge, and Rex Bound and wife Wendy of Weston, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Ashley, Kathryn, Ezekiel and Taylor Bound; two brothers, James and Ronald Bound; and nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank both the entire staff of Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and also Dr. Guy Fasciana, for the amazing care given to George throughout his illness.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
