Obituaries

Donald (Donnie) P. Smith, age 58, of Avoca, passed away Tuesday morning at home.
Born on February 16, 1958, and son of mother, Joan Rimbey Ianniccari and husband Jack of Avoca, and father, Clarence Smith and wife Joan of Taylor, Donnie was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1976. Talented in auto collision repair, he last worked at Flowserve for nearly 15 years.
A quiet man, he was thoughtful and caring and would do anything for anyone. He was an artist who enjoyed both painting and photography. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and football, and was a good softball player in his day. Loved by many and taken too soon, he will be forever missed.
He is also survived by his siblings, twin brother Duane Smith of Taylor, Kevin Smith of Avoca, David Smith and wife Holly of Nanticoke, Mark Ianniccari and wife Jamie of Shavertown, Jack Ianniccari and wife Liz of Dupont, David Ianniccari of Avoca and Stephanie Smith of Scranton; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved pups, Sasha, Hershey and Paco.
A sister-in-law, Kim Smith, tragically preceded him in death on July 21, 2012.
A memorial service by Pastor David Crispell is scheduled for Tuesday at 1:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 11:00AM until the service.
