Susan Tucker, age 60, a lifelong resident of the Rocky Glen section of Moosic, passed away Tuesday morning, after an illness. Surviving is her beloved husband and best friend, James Tucker. Wed on January 20, 1973, the couple were married for 43 years.
Born on April 20, 1956, Susan was the daughter of the late David and Barbara Tinklepaugh Dennis. Educated at Riverside High School, she worked at several local physician’s offices, in charge of medical billing. She was also a lifelong member of the Moosic Alliance Community Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her family, especially her three grandchildren, meant the world to her. She will be forever missed. A proud member of the Riverside Viking Touchdown Club, she was affectionately known as “Soupy” by the Riverside athletes. She constantly baked for the school’s sports teams, especially football.
She is also survived by her children, Jim and fiance Kelly of Old Forge, and Heather of Moosic; siblings, Roberta Galuska, Terri Berto, and Thomas Decker, all of Moosic; Mary Pat Deflice, whom she considered a daughter, of Scranton; three adored grandchildren, Jimmy, Jonathan and Isabella; and nieces and nephews.
A brother, Robert Decker, also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to thank Drs. Henry Yeager and Michael Sunday, and the entire staffs of both Lackawanna Rehabilitation Center and Moses Taylor Hospital for their collective care of Susan throughout her illness.
Funeral services by Rev. Arthur Harshman are scheduled for Saturday at 2:00PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday between noon and services at the funeral home. Interment, private.
