James A. Manheim, age 78 of Taylor, passed away Sunday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Nyland Manheim. The couple would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary November 25th.
Born on Christmas Day, 1937, James was the son of the late Louis and Mildred Martin Manheim. Prior to illness, he was employed by Sovereign Commercial Services of Scranton. A die-hard NASCAR fan, especially for Dale Earnhardt, Sr., he was also a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Joann Clarkson of Pittston, Teresa Lindgren and husband Jeff of Kingston, Sherry Bell and husband Scott of Moscow, Steven Manheim and Faith Darnall and husband Chris, all of Kansas, Karen Wassel and husband Bill of Scranton, Janey Manheim of Delaware, Vickie Laskowski and husband Raymond of Moscow, Christina Lucier of Oklahoma and Ron Manheim of Louisiana; a brother, Eddie Manheim of Florida; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A son, Richard Nalesnik; brothers, Charles and Clarence Manheim; and his adored pup, “Shady”, also preceded him in death.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
