Rose Bonita, age 50, a resident of Abington Manor in Clarks Summit, passed away Thursday after battling lung cancer.
Born on May 16, 1966, Rose was the daughter of the late Frank J., Sr., and Frances A. DeCrescenza Bonita. She earned her Commercial Drivers License (CDL) as well as her Cosmetology License. She had continued a career in cosmetology, having worked throughout the United States. For six years, she traveled the U.S., having visited every location on her bucket list prior to returning to our area. Also a member of Moose Lodge, she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Anthony, Nicholas, Dominic, Jeremy and Brandon; her siblings, Sarah Raja of Tacoma, Wa., Anthony Bonita, Sr. of Taftville, Ct., and Roberta Bonita of Taylor; paternal grandparents, William and Lucille Morris of Scranton; five grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Her brother, Frank Bonita, Jr., preceded her in death.
Her family would like to thank the entire staffs of both Abington Manor and Geisinger C.M.C. for their tremendous care throughout Rose’s illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday at 9:30AM at St. Paul’s Roman Church, 1510 Penn Avenue, Scranton, to be celebrated by Msgr. Neil J. Van Loon, Pastor. Interment will follow at Old Forge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s name to the Bonita Family, 103 Sibley Ave., Taylor, Pa., 18517.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
