Ann Marie Semanski passed away Saturday July 23, 3 days before her 87th birthday, holding her daughter’s hand.
Born Ann Marie Materazzi on July 26, 1929 to Evlyn and Americo Materazzi and educated in the Old Forge School District, Ann was employed in the local garment industry and in later years worked as a caregiver.
Her most cherished title was “Auntie Ann” to her nieces and nephews and their children. She took great pride in their many accomplishments.
Ann was the widow of Adam C. Semanski who passed away January 19, 1989. She was also predeceased by her brother Elmo Materazzi, a sister Gloria Resavy, a nephew Michael Sullivan, and her beloved Stewart.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra A. Davis, niece Donna Sullivan, niece Jackie Hatala and husband Ray, nephew Edward Resavy and wife Alice, great nieces Rae, Isabelle, and Elani, great nephews Sam and Max, sister-in-law Stella Materazzi and companion Paul Cawley.
Ann most recently resided at Allied Services Skilled Nursing and our family would like to acknowledge the compassionate caregivers of 3 South, Dr. Kenneth Sebastianelli, and the wonderful residents that became our new family.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at Noon in St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 620 S. Main St., Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August Ricciardi, pastor. Interment to follow in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
Relatives and friends may call from 11:30 until the time of the service in the church.
