Margaret (Peg) Mary “Tootsie” Hrosovsky, age 74, of Lakeville, passed away Monday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, after an illness. She was preceded in death on November 19, 2004, by her beloved husband of 45 years, Andrew Hrosovsky.
Born on June 23, 1941, daughter of the late William and Margaret Cotter Edwards, Margaret was a graduate of St. Monica’s Catholic School in Philadelphia, where she was raised. She worked as a manager of Kmart’s food division in Philadelphia before moving to Wayne County where she worked in the Deli of Mr. Z’s, Hamlin, for 15 years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed writing poetry and crafting. Also an avid gardener, she took great pride in her home garden where she could be found each morning. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Ledgedale. She’ll be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, John Hrosovsky, caregiver and with whom she resided, Andrew Hrosovsky and wife Holly of Lake Ariel, and Sandra McGurk and husband John of Lincoln, Delaware; siblings, Richard Edwards, George Edwards and wife Susan, Gladys Chesky, Virginia McCue and husband Robert and Dorothy Scarduzzio; two half-brothers, Donald and Billy Edwards; eight grandchildren, Cassidy, Jack, Andrew, Nicholas, Melony, Madelyn, William and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers, James, Kenny and infant, David Edwards, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday at St. Mary’s Church, 305 St. Mary’s Road, Ledgedale, to be celebrated by Rev. Steve Stavoy, Pastor. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 6-9:00PM at the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
