Sarah (Sally) Gerrity, age 61, of Peckville and formerly of Scranton, died Wednesday in the V.N.A. Hospice inpatient Unit of Geisinger C.M.C., Scranton. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Gerrity. The couple were to celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary on July 1st.
Born in Scranton on March 12, 1955, Sarah was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Marion Eshelman Robinson. Educated in North Scranton Schools, she worked as a machine operator for Gertrude Hawks Chocolates, Dunmore, for 15 years before retirement. She loved games, especially jigsaw puzzles, but nothing gave her greater joy than being with her four grandchildren. Taken from them unexpectedly, she will be forever missed by her loved ones.
She is survived by four children, Janet Strein and husband Josiah of Elmhurst Twp., Paul Russell of Scranton, Brad Russell and fiance Rose Rutledge of Old Forge and Chad Russell of Moosic; eight siblings; nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren, Baylee, Riley, Bryan and Abigail Strein. Siblings, Marion Andrews and Lawrence Robinson, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 7:00PM on Friday at the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Public viewing will be 5-7:00PM. Private interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
