Martin F. Domiano, age 76, of Old Forge, passed away Thursday morning in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit of Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after an illness.
Born in Old Forge on July 20, 1939, son of Esther Pesotine Domiano and the late Fred Domiano, Martin was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 1957. He admirably served in the U.S. Army before being honorably discharged in 1968. For twenty years prior to his retirement, he worked for Harper Collins Publishers in Dunmore.
A true renaissance man, he enjoyed photography, fishing, hiking and traveling, with a fondness for New York City. Of Roman Catholic faith, he was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge. He will be forever missed by his loved ones.
He is also survived by his children, Lynese Domiano of Baltimore, Maryland, and Anthony Domiano and wife Susan of Plains; his brother, Fred Domiano and wife Nancy of Old Forge; three grandchildren, Jessica Fink of Baltimore, and Christopher and Megan Domiano of Plains; his aunt, Romayne Damiano of Old Forge; his caregiver and best friend, Denise Talarico of Old Forge; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a niece, Brandi Domiano.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, May 7th, at 9:30AM at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, 620 S. Main St. in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August Ricciardi, Pastor. Interment will follow at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday between 9:00-9:30AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Martin’s name to St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, 18503.
