Robert (Mac) J. McNeice, age 78, of Scranton, passed away Thursday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing Center, where he was a five-year resident.
Born on March 11, 1938, Mac was the son of the late Robert J. and Flora E. Cathey McNeice. A Vietnam Veteran, Mac proudly served in the U.S. Navy and held membership in the V.F.W. for many years, prior to illness. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children, Christina McNeice of Olyphant, Veronica McNeice of Hallstead and William (Billy) McNeice of Susquehanna; nine grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
An infant son, Danny McNeice; and three siblings, Elenore, Donald and Raymond McNeice, also preceded her in death.
His family would like to thank the entire staff of Allied Services for their years of care, compassion, and most of all, friendship to Mac throughout his stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday at 10:30AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Francis J. Pauselli, Pastor. Committal and military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday between 9:30-10:30AM at the church. Private burial will be on Monday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mac’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS., 66675.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
