Mary Beth Welter, age 73, of Delaware City, Delaware, passed away Monday morning in the Season’s Hospice Inpatient Unit at Christiana Hospital, Newark, De.
Born in Taylor, Pa., on October 7, 1942, daughter of the late David and Iva White Alexander, Mary Beth was a graduate of the former Duryea High School, Class of 1960. She worked for the Prodelin Corporation before moving to Delaware. There, she served as secretary and office manager at several law firms, retiring after 20 years with Kimmel Carter Roman & Peltz of Newark, De. She loved to dance, especially line dancing at the Delaware City Recreation Center, the same venue where she participated in women’s bowling leagues, also a favorite pastime of hers. Adored by her family, she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by two children, Leigh Ann Havens and husband Franklin and David Welter, all of Delaware City; four sisters, Karen Welter of Gettysburg, Pa., Judy Alexander of Bordentown N.J., Kathy Koft and husband Daniel of York, Pa., and Lisa Kling of Bordentown, N.J.; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 11:00AM at Langcliffe Presbyterian Church, 1001 Main Street in Avoca, Pa., to be conducted by Rev. Alex Becker, Pastor. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday between 10-11:00AM at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
