Obituaries

Lillian E. Zimmer, age 91, of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. She was preceded in death in 1997 by her beloved husband, Anthony Zimmer.
Born in Scranton on February 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Hall Trumbo. Lillian enjoyed cooking and would never refuse a good party. She had a memorable sense of humor and was adored by her family. A loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be forever missed by both her loved ones and dear friends.
She is survived by three sons, George Zimmer and wife Janet of Taylor, Hank Zimmer and wife Gail of Clarks Summit and David Zimmer and companion Carrie Sheffler of Clarks Summit; her sister, Margaret McGrail and husband Joseph of Taylor; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a step-mother, Dorothy Trumbo, a step-sister, Audrey Gilbert, a step-brother, Robert Gilbert and a half-brother, William Trumbo, all of Scranton; and nieces and nephews.
A sister, Dorothy Bates, and brothers, Hank and George Trumbo, also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to thank both the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart and also Dr. Anees Fogley, for the tremendous care taken of Lillian throughout her illness.
Blessing services by Rev. James Whitman are scheduled for Friday at 7:00PM in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 5:00PM until services.
