Obituaries

Gonzalo Rodriguez, age 54, of Scranton, passed away Thursday morning under the care of the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit of Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Judith Rodriguez.
Born in Puebla, Mexico, on October 12, 1961, he was the son of the late Livorio and Miliana Velasquez Rodriguez. Prior to his illness, he worked for Wyoming Pallet in Exeter. A soccer fanatic, he served as goalie on several club soccer teams in Passaic, New Jersey, where he had previously resided. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children, Carlos Rodriguez of Bethlehem, Gustavo Rodriguez of Scranton, Hilda Rodriguez and fiance Joseph Higgins of Archbald and Gonzalo Rodriguez, Jr., in U.S. Marines Corp. training; brothers, Alvaro Rodriguez of Scranton and Candido Rodriguez of Mexico; three grandchildren, Camryn and Natalie Higgins and Alex Rodriguez.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Sunday between 2-5:00PM at the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
