Kathleen Barlow, age 69, of Taylor, passed away Wednesday morning at home. She is survived by her beloved husband, Warren Barlow. Wed on June 14, 1985, the couple were married for 30 years.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 15, 1947, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Michael and Louise Szewczyk Leota. Of Roman Catholic faith, she belonged to Divine Mercy Parish upon the closure of St. John the Baptist Church in Taylor.
A talented seamstress, besides knitting she also enjoyed playing bingo, shopping (HSN) and cooking. Everyone was welcome to her dinners.
An animal lover, she adored her dogs, Bailey and Molly. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she will be forever missed by her loved ones.
She is survived by four children, Nick LaChase and wife Jaime of Tunkhannock, Gentry Barlow and wife Laura of Duryea, Nadine Cortes and husband Marcos of Scranton and Janine Wetzel and husband Jeff of Mandan, North Dakota; a brother, Michael Leota and wife Penny of Carrollton, Virginia; two nieces, Sarah and Jennifer; and eight loving grandchildren, Brittney, Katerina, James, Kassandra, Nicho, Ciera, Journey and Noah.
Her family wishes to thank the Moses Taylor Hospital staff for the care provided to Kathleen while a patient at the hospital
Funeral services by Rev. Dan Miller are scheduled for Saturday at noon in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park in Dallas.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 10AM until services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen’s name to Telespond Seniors Services, Inc., 1200 Saginaw Street, Scranton, Pa., 18505.
