Vincent M. Baclaski, age 63, of Old Forge, passed away Saturday at V.N.A. Hospice, Geisinger C.M.C., Scranton, after an illness.
Born in Taylor on October 17, 1952, he was the son of the late Vincent and Josephine Cohowicz Baclaski. A former welder for Trane Co., Dunmore, Vincent more recently served as a Drug & Alcohol Couselor at Clearbrook Manor. Serving as an AA sponsor for many years, he was devoted to supporting others through difficult times, having touched the lives of so many throughout the years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and was a dedicated member of the Moosic Alliance Community Church where he considered the congregation his extended family.
A loving Dad, “Papa” to his four grandchildren, brother, relative and friend, he leaves behind his legacy of love, care and support for others. He will be forever missed.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, both formerly of Old Forge, Valene Wozny and husband Radomir of Riverside, California, and Heather Perrone and fiance Stuart Taylor of Orlando, Florida; loving sisters, Lorraine Giacometti and husband Ronnie of Old Forge and Joan McNamara of Scranton; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate Vincent’s life are scheduled for Friday at 11:00AM in the Moosic Alliance Community Church, 608 Rocky Glen Road in Moosic.
