Anthony J. Pinto, age 85, a resident of Clarks Summit Senior Living, passed away Thursday in the V.N.A. Hospice Inpatient Unit of Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, Luzia Pinto.
Born in Scranton on February 28, 1930, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna Lisak Pinto. He honorably served our country in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957, before returning home to attend the University of Scranton. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Civilian Personnel Director for U.S. Army Civil Service. During his retirement, he had spent over twenty years living in Germany. Passing away peacefully, he will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
He is survived by three children, Nancy A. Wikes, Jeanmarie Pinto and Tony Pinto, Jr.; a brother, Edward A. Pinto and wife Shirley; two grandchildren, Sandra Wikes and Gina Catrell; and two great grandchildren.
A daughter, LeeAnn Felix, and a son, Robert J. Pinto, also preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anthony’s name to the Visiting Nurses Association, c/o 301 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant, Pa., 18447.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
