Obituaries

Vera Menichiello, age 90, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and formerly of Old Forge, passed away October 26th. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Arthur (Art) Menichiello.
Born in Old Forge on August 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Alfredo and Anastasia Isolina Banci Tenti. Upon graduating from Old Forge High School, she earned her degree from Lackawanna Business College. Prior to leaving the area with her husband, she had been a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, now Prince of Peace Parish, in Old Forge. A loving mother and grandmother, she will forever be missed.
She is survived by her seven children, Marty Menichiello and wife Denise of Huntington Beach, CA., Rita Jordan and husband Charles of New Smyrna Beach, FL., Gloria Hazzouri and husband Stephen of Scranton, Art Menichello and wife Suzanne of Colorado Springs, CO., Carla Menichiello of Winston-Salem, NC., Angela Belair and husband John of Gilbert, AZ., and Gary Menichiello of Orlando, FL., seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, Nello Tenti; and two sisters, Concetta Tenti and Yolanda Calogero, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services and burial at Old Forge Cemetery will be Friday, June 24th, at noon in Old Forge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
