Jeannine Nagley, age 86, a resident of Allied Terrace in Scranton, and formerly of Camp Hill, passed away Friday morning at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Max R. Nagley, on March 15, 2010.
Born in Martinsburg, West Virginia, on January 11, 1929, daughter of the late Rose Hollis Wever, Jeannine was a graduate of Martinsburg High School, Class of 1946. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a secretary for Brotherhood’s Relief and Compensation Fund in Harrisburg. An active supporter of New Hope Ministries, she was a member of the Shiremanstown United Methodist Church. Also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, she enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends, and her family always enjoyed her baking, especially her cheesecake. She will be dearly missed by those who deeply loved her.
She is survived by her loving son, Steven Nagley and wife Janet of Old Forge; four grandchildren, Stacy and Erin Nagley, Amanda Dice and Rodney Swords; and four great grandchildren, Brayden, Nicholas, Mia and Hayden.
A daughter, Carole Swords; and a brother, Charles Dorsey Wever, also preceded her in death.
Her family wishes to thank the entire first floor staff at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their collective care and compassion throughout Jeannine’s stay with them.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at noon at Shiresmantown United Methodist Church, 175 East Main Street in Shiremanstown, Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 11:00AM until services at the church. Burial will be Thursday at Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg, West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeannine’s name to West Shore Meals on Wheels, 101 N. 23rd St. Camp Hill, Pa 17011. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
