Delbert Hull, age 80, of Plains, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, after passing away at Wesley Village, Jenkins Twp. He was preceded on April 5, 2005, by his beloved wife, Betty Yale Hull.
Born in Moosic on August 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Delbert Hull, Sr., and Harriet Legg Hull Brown. Educated in both Moosic and Avoca Schools, he was a 1952 graduate of the former Avoca High School. An Army Veteran, he honorably served in Germany during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked as a technician for 30 years at Techneglas, Pittston Twp. A lifelong and faithful member of the Moosic Assembly of God Church, he was also a member of the Irem Temple in Dallas. An animal lover, he always adored his dog, Twitt. A loving father, brother and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Sam) Hull and wife Doreen of Pittston Twp., Delbert Hull, III, and wife Kim, Lorna Montgomery and Sally Macavinsky and husband Alex, all of Glen Lyon, and Jeffrey Hull of Mill City; his siblings, Rhea Hull of Moosic, Ellen Chubb and husband Alex of Avoca, Leslie Brown and wife Sally of Old Forge, and Anna Simms of Scranton; a sister-in-law, Mary Brown of Dupont; 16 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were siblings, Philip Hull, Harold Brown, Lorna Edwards and Linda Brown.
His family would like to acknowledge and thank both staffs of the South Unit of Wesley Village as well as Compassionate Care Hospice for the tremendous care given to Delbert throughout his illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at noon at the Moosic Assembly of God Church, 477 Third Street in Moosic, to be conducted by Rev. David O’Brien, Pastor. Interment, with full military services by the AMVETS Honor Guard, will follow at Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday between 2-5:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Delbert’s name to the Moosic A.O.G. Church, 477 Third St., Moosic, 18507.
