Obituaries

Rose Marie Mulligan, age 56, of Scranton and formerly White Haven, died Tuesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Hop Bottom on July 18, 1958, Rose Marie was the daughter of the late Raymond, Sr., and Irene McGee Mulligan. A unique, gentle, caring and kind-hearted individual, she was fiercly independent and strongly affectionate. She enjoyed small gatherings, loved butterflies, and most of all, trips to the park. Passing away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, Rose Marie will be long remembered by her extended family and friends. She will always be missed.
She is survived by her siblings, Donald Mulligan of Jermyn, June Peck of Lawton and Rita Cooley of South Montrose; many nieces and nephews, including a dear niece, Kim Holland of Scott Twp.
Brothers, Raymond, Jr., John and Harvey Mulligan, also preceded her in death.
Her family and friends would like to thank the EMT involved; the staffs of Regional Hospital and Arc Court Street; and dear friends, Barbara Stone, Noniey Cosmark and Alicia Battenberg for the tremendous care given to Rose Marie.
Funeral services will begin on Monday at 10:30AM from the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton, with an 11:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street in West Scranton to be celebrated by Rev. Stephen Krawontka, Associate Pastor. Interment will follow at Tyler Hill Cemetery, Dimock Twp.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday between 2-4:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rose Marie’s name to The ARC Responds, 115 Meadow Avenue, Scranton, Pa., 18505.
