Joseph (Joby) Ash, age 58, of Eynon, passed away Thursday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
An avid fan of New York Yankees baseball, he also enjoyed watching Batman. A music lover, he was often heard singing his favorite songs. He would often recite his favorite quotes to those dear to him and he was always looking to recycle.
Of Roman Catholic faith, he often attended Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Scranton and he would also watch television Mass while wearing his rosary and Mardi Gras beads. Joby was a warm, friendly, compassionate and unique individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. He’ll long be remembered for his perpetual smile, knack at entertaining and conversing with others, and as being a good friend to many. He will truly be missed by all of those lucky enough to have him in their lives.
He is survived by family, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry, Sr., and Rita Brady Ash; siblings, Harry, Jr., Michael, Anna Marie and Kathleen (Pat) Ash.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday to begin at 10:00AM at St. Peter’s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Avenue in Scranton. Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 9-10:00AM at the church.
