Gail Jerowski, age 64, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Saturday evening under the care of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore.
Born on January 12, 1951, daughter of the late Matthew, Sr. and Elma Shaffer Kennedy, Gail was agraduate of the former Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1968. A machine operator, she worked for both Triple A Trouser and Mayflower Manufacturing Companies. An active member of Grace Bible Church of Dunmore, she was also a teacher for the church’s Sunday School. An avid bowler, she particpated in numerous tournaments and leagues, including the Abington Ladies and the Parkettes. She often played cards with her ladies’ card club, and she always enjoyed trips to the Mohegan Sun’s slot machines. She will be dearly missed by all of those who loved her.
She is survived by her brother, Jack Kennedy and wife Dolores of Scranton; her niece, Kris Vieira and husband Joe of Roaring Brook Twp.; her nephew, Keith Kennedy and wife Charlene of Hanover Twp.; her great neice and great nephew, Kaylene and Joshua Kennedy, both of Hanover Twp.; her best friend, Helen Bolovski of Scranton; and her beloved dog, Duke.
Her husband, James Jerowski, and brothers, Matthew, Jr. and William Kennedy also preceded her in death.
Her family wishes to thank the entire staffs of both the Intensive Care unit of Moses Taylor Hospital and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the collective care given to Gail throughout her illness.
Funeral services to be conducted by Rev. Terry Ribble, Pastor of Grace Bible Church, are scheduled for Monday at 11:00AM in the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Interment will follow at Shady Lane Cemetery, Chinchilla. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday between 4-7:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gail’s name to Grace Bible Church, 130 University Drive, Dunmore, 18512.
